About Mount Milligan MineLocated approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
About the OpportunityWe have an opportunity for a full-time Administrator, Human Resources to join our Mount Milligan Mine operations site.
This is a camp-based position with a schedule of 4 days of work and 3 days of rest, 10 hours days.
Reporting to the Superintendent, Human Resources, you will be primarily responsible for providing administrative support and assistance to the HR department. The role requires a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and professionalism.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Creating and managing accurate digital & physical files for all employees, ensuring they are up to date
- Checking and distributing documents and correspondence, as well as, receiving, sorting and distributing incoming mail
- Ensuring company property assigned to employees is tracked and managed. (ie: Lockers, coveralls)
- Collaborating with the recruitment process where required
- Maintaining and reviewing departmental information including organizational charts & phone lists
- Assisting the HR team with planning, coordinating, and executing company events, employee recognition, and various projects as required
- Answering employees' queries about HR-related issues
- Coordinating and tracking the probationary review process
- Performing general office management and organization procedures
- Assisting the HR team members, where appropriate
To qualify, you will need 3+ years of administrative experience within a confidential environment. Experience in the mining industry is a strong asset.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Experience and adaptability working within a very fast-paced environment
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word and Excel
- Proactive, high degree of initiative and an excellent team player
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience working in a camp environment
