Are you resourceful , love helping others and enjoy being in HR, then we want you ! National Seating Mobility is hiring a Human Resources Business Partner to support their Western Canada clients. You can be located in Calgary or Vancouver and have a chance to partially work from home.

Your Responsibilities Are

  • Create strategic ways to improve the relationship between the company’s leadership and its employees.
  • Understand the company business model. Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Manage the recruitment and onboarding programs and help oversee and create job descriptions to attract candidates.
  • Participate in candidate screening and job interviewing process to ensure new hires align with upper management’s goals.
  • Ensure that new hires have a positive on-boarding experience. Monitor the performance and satisfaction of new hires.
  • Understand company benefits (retirement and health benefits, vacation, disability) and assist in communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Consult with organizational stakeholders on the development of personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Assist managers with performance review process, coach managers on productive performance review and development discussions.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to managers and supervisors; manage the resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Review corrective action communications: review and approve all employee separation communication prior to termination.
  • Manage the facilitation of employee satisfaction surveys and exit interviews. Lead in preparation of action plans to address areas of opportunity.
  • Ensure workplace safety initiatives and on-the-job injury claims; ensure timely processing and accuracy of paperwork.
  • Stay current on HR trends to develop solutions using current best practices in the field.
  • Ensure a strong understanding of laws and regulations to help the company stay in compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with governmental reporting; maintain other records and reports as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HR
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • CHRP Preferred
  • Experience in the US an asset
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good HR experience with the ability to make decisions and stand your ground.
  • Someone who can challenge and has the maturity to know when to stop.
  • Strong will and good energy and is willing to do the admin work and the strategic work.
  • Self-motivator, hands-on.
  • Autonomous and knows how to find the information – self-starter
  • Can work independently without supervision
  • Good intermediate skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong communication skills (French & English languages would be an asset) and has experience developing corporate communication.
  • Someone with strong empathetic skills and knows how to handle employee relations.
  • Experience in a retail environment would be an asset.
  • A person with good emotional intelligence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.
  • Not afraid to take on projects in addition to their regular duties.

General Info

  • $80,000-$100,000 based on experience
  • 2 weeks vacation
  • Health & Dental Benefits
  • 9-5pm ( Hours may need to fluctuate based on location and clients time zones)
  • Some work from home and some travel to client locations depending on needs.
