The Opportunity!

We are seeking a dynamic Human Resources Business Partner to join our team! As the HR Business Partner for Western Canada, you will be the strategic and tactical HR support to a regional group at both corporate and front-line employee varying across multiple locations and provinces. Reporting into the Senior HR Director, you will help shape our HR processes, taking the lead on employee relations and supporting with exciting mergers and acquisitions. This position will be a remote work environment. Ideal candidate would be located within the Fraser Valley or surrounding areas, Okanagan, or Calgary area.

A day in the life –

Business Support – Employee Relations

  • Offer guidance, support and coaching to managers and employees in resolving workplace and employee relations matters.
  • Foster positive relationships to collaborate on performance management, disciplinary actions and address legal matters related to labour laws, employment contracts, terminations and more.
  • Participate and lead workplace investigations as required.
  • Actively contribute to the planning and execution of the company's merger and acquisition projects.
  • Understand the company’s business goals while recommending new approaches to policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure continual improvements in HR process development.
  • Partner with site-specific teams to align their goals with the core values and priorities of Functionalab and Dermapure.

Policy, Process, Projects

  • Work closely with Sr HR Director and Operations team members to implement and execute HR strategy, processes and transactions that support a variety of requests.
  • Participate in the implementation of HR systems and assist in ensuring their effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with business team members to drive and successfully deliver HR initiatives and projects.
  • Play a key role in strategic HR projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing our HR services for the organization.

HR Support

  • Advise on a variety of HR policies and processes related to documentation/processing, policies, legal requirements etc.
  • Support a variety of HR processes related to payroll, benefits, leaves, performance management, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in the annual salary administration cycle, contributing to fair and competitive compensation practices.
  • Collaborate with company leaders to support and complete annual performance review cycle.
  • Participate in delivering communication and training materials to Employees and Leaders.

What you bring to our team –

  • A positive and collaborative mindset, with a commitment to contributing to the organization's success.
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR relevant field or equivalent.
  • Employee relations experience and labour standard knowledge.
  • 3+ years of professional experience as an HR Business Partner.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under a fast-growing environment.
  • Proven experience working in a multiple province environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant HR systems and software.
  • Bilingual in French will be considered an asset.
  • Willing to travel up to 25% to clinic locations as required.
