Human Resources Clerk

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources (HR) Clerk is a part-time contract position till March 31, 2024 with possible extension. The Human Resources (HR) Clerk is responsible for Human Resources functions of the Kitapinoonjiiminaanik Family Services. The HR Clerk will ensure timely and accurate HUMAN RESOURCES records to ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll. The HR Clerk will ensure timely completion regarding staff recruitment and termination processes, associated HUMAN RESOURCES letters, and administers the Group Benefits Plan and Pension Plan.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Community College Diploma or High School Diploma with three years direct related experience. However, others with a combination of skills, education and experience that would allow them to do the job may be considered;
- Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act and Regulations,
- Knowledge of Customary Care and the philosophy of service delivery, First Nation communities, family structure as well as local customs and traditions;
- Thorough knowledge of the administrative structure and operations of Kitapinoonjiiminaanik Family Services including service delivery, policies, procedures, and office methods;
- Committed to ensure highest level of confidentiality at all times; thorough understanding that all agency matters related to finance, service, clients, staff, and all other agency business must be kept confidential;
- Ability to establish and maintain purposeful relationships with staff, management, board members, vendors, and other community service providers;
- Ability to take direction and work within the philosophy, policies, procedures, guidelines, and auditing standards;
- Ability to assess urgent matters ensuring appropriate staff are promptly notified or refer matter to supervisors and/or directors as required;
- Sound knowledge of office methods and procedures with a proven ability to process incoming and outgoing faxes, mail, and parcels;
- Experience with computers and knowledge of word processing to ensure maintenance of Intercom List and other charts and lists as may be required from time to time;
- Ability to maintain an adequate inventory of supplies to ensure availability as required by staff and management;
- Experience working with a variety of office machines and ability to ensure proper working order;
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent time management, problem-solving and decision-making skills;
- Proven ability to work productively with little or no supervision;
- Must have keyboard speed of 50 words per minute;
- Ability to flex daily work hours as determined by the Director of Services;
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and be willing to travel;
- Must provide a clear Criminal Records Check and Driver’s Abstract; and
- Ability to speak Ojibway is preferred and a definite asset.
Salary Range: Start: $44,030.00 - $54,000.00
