We are looking for a Human Resource Consultant (Part-time)

The Human Recourses consultant is to assist in the areas of Employee policy management, recruitment and additional special projects are they arise. Reporting to the President you will guide the employee growth of the company, establishing people best practices for employee recruitment, organization development, and career development.

As our HR consultant you will help cuddle+kind to enhance our company culture to ensure that our core values are maintained as we enter our next phase of growth. This is a new position within cuddle+kind and the key responsibilities will include

Talent Acquisition

  • Recruitment of all positions including full time, and contract team members
  • Create interview criteria and process to select the best candidates.
  • Coach and mentor on effective recruitment techniques
  • Creation of all job descriptions that can be used for multiple platforms such as postings, and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process of new employees

Organizational Development & Training

  • Develop Training programs and guidelines
  • Develop Employee Performance review processes, and guide managers and employees through the program, ensuring that program goals and objectives are met.
  • Assist the development and implementation of Human Resources strategies, policies and procedures to create an organizational culture that supports the business mission and strategies.
  • Develop communication strategy and material, ensuring managers and employees receive timely and easy to understand information on their compensation packages
  • Oversight of compensation year-end processes and related communications, to ensure HR key messages are embedded in all compensation related communication.
  • Coordinate and administered annual merit pay increases.
  • Keep informed of local market trends, research and collection of local compensation trends information
  • Manage benefits and report of usage and cost including US benefits
  • Maintain internal databases - wages, vacation, attendance, agreements, training, corrective action etc... Research and recommend HRIS vendor and implementation
  • Manage Payroll

Employee Relations

  • Develop a performance culture through a robust performance management process with all employees having regular feedback and specific development plans. Coach managers in effective employee performance management, alignment and engagement of employees in the delivery of departmental goals, and overall talent management.
  • Provide employee relations support to both managers and employees on policy and procedure interpretation, counseling career opportunities, and personal development.

Qualifications:

  • Education Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or equivalent HR designation as asset
  • Post-secondary education in applicable program.
  • 3-5 years as a Human Resources Generalist
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial environment that experienced positive growth
  • Experience in small offices where flexibility and multitasking are key.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual, Freelance

Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 10 per week
