As Hydro One invests in building the energy system of the future, we continue to grow our industry-leading Indigenous Relations team to advance our action-based approach to reconciliation. We are looking for a dynamic, detailed-oriented team player with in-depth understanding of Indigenous cultures who is interested in documenting Indigenous Relations consultation. This position will play a key role in supporting the implementation of Hydro One’s Indigenous Relations Strategy through maintaining, analyzing, and reporting on communications records using our engagement and commitment tracking systems and processes.
General Accountabilities:
Develop and document and/or utilize systems and processes for the collecting, analyzing, presenting and reporting of information and estimates related to processes, service levels, contracts and accomplishments.
Assist in discussions, problem solving and issue resolution regarding process changes, negotiation, implementation and ongoing work performance of Service Level Agreements, Contracts or Processes.
Participate in interpretation and assessment of organizational performance as it relates to the execution of work programs, paying particular attention to the effectiveness of business processes, and the penetration and successful adaptation of software tools and data systems.
Provide advice and direction on service level agreements, contracts, processes and related activities and assist with audits to ensure compliance.
Assist in the development of the communication requirements relating to wide variety of business operations processes and related subjects making presentations to various audiences associated with technical and operational processes affected.
Perform other duties as required.
Selection Criteria
Essential Knowledge:
Requires knowledge of Service Level Agreements or Contracts and analytical techniques to be able to analyze the associated information and provide advice and direction to Network Services staff.
Requires knowledge of estimating principles to be able to provide assistance with compiling and reviewing estimates pertaining to negotiating activities associated with distribution and transmission work.
Requires a sound knowledge of the theories and principles relating to business methods, processes, operations, including change management techniques and the computerized applications associated with a modern business environment.
Requires knowledge of computerized information systems and business administration to be able to develop and/or utilize systems and processes for analyzing, presenting and reporting information.
Requires a sound knowledge of technical terms used in the distribution business.
Requires a proficient knowledge of English including written and verbal communication skills to be able to effectively prepare written correspondence, assist in discussions, interact with customers and deliver presentations.
This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training (Grade XII plus 5 years).
Essential Experience:
Requires experience in the distribution/transmission business to have acquired an understanding of the technical aspects of the job, policies, practices, systems and processes.
Requires some practical knowledge of the daily technical and operational processes of both the head office and field organization.
Requires experience in negotiation practices to have developed issue resolution techniques pertaining to Service Level Agreements or contracts.
Requires experience in working effectively with a wide range of people as well as the ability to work independently.
Requires experience handling multiple tasks while adhering to stringent deadlines.
Requires some experience monitoring organizational performance, using a variety of diagnostic tools, and working in change management initiatives to secure organizational alignment and improved performance.
Requires lived or professional experience working with Indigenous Peoples in Ontario.
Familiarity with Borealis is considered an asset.
A period of over 4 years and up to and including 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
