Position Overview:
As an Applications Administrator at PetroBeacon, you will be responsible for the efficient management and support of critical applications both internal and client facing. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the seamless operation of field operation software and data collection. Your work will be done through the PetroBeacon downtown office in Calgary, Alberta.
Responsibilities:
- Administer, configure, and maintain software systems both internally and on-site.
- Manage and support applications hosted on Microsoft Azure Infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Create and optimize the performance of SQL Databases and queries.
- Utilize your expertise in Excel for data analysis and reporting to enhance business intelligence.
- Provide technical support for applications running on Windows Server environments.
- Collaborate with internal teams and customers to understand application requirements and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard applications and data.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually enhance PetroBeacon's application ecosystem.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience as an Applications Administrator with expertise in SQL Server, Azure Infrastructure, Excel, and Windows Server.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to address technical issues promptly.
- Familiarity with database management, particularly SQL Server.
- Proficient in managing applications on Azure Infrastructure.
- Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with Microsoft environment, Office 365, SharePoint, etc.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
Useful Skills & Experience:
- Scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Batch, TSQL, Excel VBA etc.
- Microsoft Flow, SharePoint tables, etc.
- Effectively communicate in-person and remotely with people in different time zones.
