Location: Strathroy, ON.

Primary Purpose of Position
Reporting to the Plant Controller, the incumbent is responsible to support the IT Team in the help desk activities. Performs activities related to integration between manufacturing and Information Systems. Provides administrative support to comply with Meridian standards.
Major Responsibilities of Position
- Customer Support: Provides Tier 1 & 2 end user hardware and software support. Provides support for upgrading existing and integrating new manufacturing work centers into Meridian’s network.
- Maintenance: Coordinates regular maintenance, backups and upgrades of computers integrated into manufacturing.
- Create and modify user accounts following standards and procedures
- Disable user accounts for terminated employees when requested by HR or the IT Manager
- Build, rebuild and retire computers systems following lifecycle guidelines
- Reboot servers when necessary
- Recall backup tapes from offsite storage
- Open and close IT support requests
- Other responsibilities as required, including special projects as they arise.
Skills and Education Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science
- 1-year related work experience
- Familiarity with ERP principles & practices
- Software deployment & maintenance
- Time/Priority Management
- Dealing with difficult people
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Fluency in English
- Working in Teams
