Job description

Cancap Management Inc. (“Cancap”) is part of privately-owned Canadian national financial services company with multiple verticals across automotive, consumer, and merchant lending portfolios. We manage the entire lifecycle of the finance receivable from credit adjudication through to contract administration, customer service, default management and post charge-off recoveries.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Junior Control Analyst, your daily responsibilities will consist of:

· Reviewing mortgage documentation and checking for accuracy

· Organizes work information to ensure accuracy and completeness.

· Executes routine tasks such as service requests, transactions, queries etc. within relevant service level agreements.

· Performs administrative tasks such as distributing/collecting/filing/etc. documentation and information.

· May function as a problem-solving resource for more junior staff.

· Provides accurate and timely processing of service requests, transactions, activities, etc. within relevant service level agreements and in accordance with established policies, processes and procedures.

· Provides accurate, consistent, knowledgeable responses to stakeholder questions and requests.

· Follows documented policies and procedures to execute day to day transactions, activities, processes and ensure all Service Level Agreements(SLAs) are met.

· Checks and reconciles information and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness

· Flagging errors and sending back for final updates prior to approval

· Identifies and resolves discrepancies in accordance with standard procedures. Escalates issues, where necessary, as per guidelines.

· Data enters, reviews and verifies loan information and documentation for processing and/or further handling.

· Manages documentation to ensure that records are maintained in a proper manner.

Experience required:

· 2 - 3 years’ of relevant experience

· Post-secondary degree in related field of study desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Proven experience with data accuracy – minimal error rate

· High attention to detail

· Exposure to or experience with mortgage/lending principals – they will need to be able to ascertain when something looks ‘off’ with a mortgage application and initiate checks as needed (i.e. recalculate loan to value ratios if numbers don’t align)

· Experience within financial services (banking, insurance, credit, etc.) desirable

· Bilingual (French/English) – will not be working on the phone but will need strong verbal & written communication skills

· Knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology is an asset

· Knowledge and understanding of mortgage and lending products and services, processes and controls is an asset

· PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Organization skills

· Collaboration & team skills

· Analytical and problem solving skills
