We have experienced significant growth and are continuing to add to our team. We are currently looking for a Junior Accountant to join our Shared Services team.
Job Summary
The Junior Accountant provides various types of financial support to York’s Shared Services team. This individual works collaboratively with other team members and serves as a company representative when engaging with clients and other external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Senior Accountant to maintain a strong level of detail over day-to-day responsibilities
- Bank reconciliations for 20+ legal entities
- Reconcile and process payments for company credit cards
- Record and reconcile property taxes, insurance, and utilities
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Quarterly balance sheet reporting
- Otherwise updating and maintaining accounting databases as needed
- Assist the Property Management team with day-to-day accounting and ad hoc reconciliations as required
- Other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Senior Accountant, VP Accounting, and COO.
What you bring to York:
- Education with a diploma or degree majoring in accounting
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred
- Previous experience working in construction and/or property management preferred
- Experience using Yardi preferred
- Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups
- Ability to remain objective and maintain a factual perspective when dealing with questions and inquiries
- Sense of urgency and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver a message to a large group
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
