We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our finance team as a Junior Accountant. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and a keen eye for accuracy. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of accounting. Based in the Sherwood Park location, the Junior Accountant's primary role is the day-to-day financial transactions, monthly reconciliations and providing support to the Senior Accountants.
Essential Duties

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records through data entry and reconciliation.
• Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure their accuracy.
• Reconcile bank statements to ensure consistency with financial records.
• Support the month-end closing process by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and provide support as needed.
• Assist in special projects and tasks as assigned by senior members of the finance team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least a second-year student actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. (mandatory requirement).
• Understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office .
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical behavior.
