- The Assistant Manager ensures the smooth running of the day-to-day operations for the hotel restaurant and special events, including banquets.
- Supervise staff and ensure that customer expectations are exceeded at all times
- Keep the food and beverage areas clean and maintain exemplary food hygiene practices
- Assist with recruitment, training, and management of staff
- Assist with inventory management; oversee proper unpacking of weekly orders, ensuring storage locations are neat and tidy at all times and part of the monthly counting ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to address customer complaints or issues, and resolve matters as expediently as possible
- Oversee food storage and dining areas, ensuring that the facility remains in compliance with safety regulation and health codes
- Assist with cocktail creation and menu development. Let your passion shine!
- Lead and execute weddings, conferences and signature events; ensure that no detail is missed and the event is delivered flawlessly
- Daily billing and financial responsibilities to be completed accurately and efficiently
- A leader in daily communication on guest feedback, employee performance and notes from the days shift
- Flexible to work various shifts (early mornings, late evenings, weekends, split shifts)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic computer skills
- Highly organized individual with the ability to handle numerous tasks at one time
- Strong proven leadership qualities and management skills
- Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related discipline is a strong asset
- 2 years' in a hotel or restaurant industry, including at least 1 year in a supervisory position
- Working knowledge of MICROS or similar P.O.S. system is an asset
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits
