Roles and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Lead Hand – Electrical Department will be to oversee and coordinate all daily work in the electrical department. Duties of the position are detailed below. This person will also work closely with other departments in order to ensure production flow is consistent and timely.
Duties involved with this position will be, but not limited to:
- Must be able to coordinate and carry out wiring of all sub-assemblies in electrical department (fans, boxes, units, ERU’s, Co’s, t-stats)
- Training and assisting in training new employees
- Planning out daily tasks and delegating duties to all members of the department
- Able to inspect and make corrections to sub-assemblies
- Work with other department heads in order to get jobs done in a timely manner
- Report attendance for the electrical department
- Ensure wire stock and terminals are maintained
- Collect, sort and count sheet metal and other components
- Program motors, pic chips and CPU’s as needed
- Complete other assigned duties as determined
Experience:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a related leadership position
- Initiative, responsibility and creativity
- Proven organization and multi-tasking ability
- Ability to work independently as well with a team
- Demonstrate sound work ethics
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
Knowledge:
- Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, MA’s, pick lists and production schedule
- Able to keep and maintain detailed records/files for jobs with custom wiring
- Strong ability to prioritize, organize and plan ahead
- Able to speak to a group
- Able to correctly and competently use tools and ladders
- Some computer skills
- Willing to work overtime as needed
- People skills, able to lead others
- Strong decision making skills
