Lead Hand, Transmission Dismantling Operations

Robinson Services is a North American leader providing manufacturing and property management services. We are looking for an energetic, focused and dedicated team player to join us as a Lead Hand/Shipper- Transmission Dismantling Operations.

The Lead Hand for our Transmission Dismantling Operation, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the dismantling process, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols. You will lead a team of dismantlers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive Transmission Dismantling, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality results. In addition, perform shipping and receiving duties and fill in for site management as required.

The Lead Hand will have daily interactions with our customer and must handle requests and issues with tact and diplomacy as this is a start-up operation and our customer will be on site most days. Prior client relations experience is a must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

TEAM MANAGEMENT:

· Lead and supervise a team of dismantlers in the Transmission Dismantling operation

· Plan and prioritize daily dismantling tasks to meet production targets and deadlines

· Train new team members on dismantling techniques, safety procedures, and quality standards

· Monitor work progress and quality to identify areas of improvement and implement corrective actions as needed

· Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, promote a culture of safety awareness and adherence amongst team members

· Maintain inventory accuracy by tracking and reporting on parts usage and replenishment needs

· Collaborate with other work area to optimize workflow and resolve any operational issues that may arise

· Provide regular performance feedback and coaching to team members, fostering a positive and supportive work environment

KNOWLEDGE OF:

● Previous experience in automotive transmission disassembly or related mechanical work.

● Familiarity with tools and equipment used in Transmission Dismantling and recycling.

● Ability to work with precision and attention to detail, ensuring accurate sorting and categorization of materials.

● Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.

● Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

● Work is performed while standing.

● Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.

● Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds

● Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity and exposure to dust.

QUALIFICATIONS

● High School diploma minimum.

● Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands

● High flexibility with good interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment

● Minimum of 3 years of forklift experience/certification is mandatory with shipping and receiving duties

● Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

● Excellent communication skills.

HOURS OF WORK

Currently, hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. (30 minute lunch) –This is subject to change at the discretion of management. The Lead Hand must have flexibility in start and stop times as shipments times vary.

Salary: From $24.00 per hour
