We are currently seeking a Learning & Development Specialist with a strong focus on onboarding and training coordination to join our Ottawa based team!

What will you be doing?

• Onboarding support, assisting in facilitating the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition and a positive experience.
• Coordinate and schedule all training sessions for new employees.
• Coordinate and oversee both corporate and role-specific training programs.
• Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and organize relevant sessions.
• Employee training records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of employee training activities and certifications, utilizing appropriate systems and databases.
• Reporting Training KPI’s.
• Design and implement new training systems across the business
• Work with IT and leadership in selecting and implementing an LMS system.
• Training content creation.
• Assist in the administration of policies by tracking policy reviews, ensuring employee acknowledgements, and facilitating necessary follow-ups.
• People and Culture program support, contribute to various People and Culture initiatives, such as engagement surveys, employee performance reviews, and other programs aimed at enhancing the employee experience at MMIST.
• HRIS administration, managing our BambooHR system, ensuring data accuracy, generating reports, and providing support to employees as needed.
• Assist in the administration of weekly vacation and flex time reporting, ensuring accurate records are maintained.

What do we need from you?

• Previous experience as a coordinator in a People or Training focused Human Resources role ideally in an engineering or aerospace environment.
• Proficiency in HRIS software (ideally BambooHR) and the MS Office suite.
• Strong understanding of onboarding processes, training coordination, and employee relations.
• Experience with implementing and improving HR processes and procedures.
• Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Professional certification such as Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is highly desirable.
