Dawson Co-op invites applications for the position of Maintenance Managerto join our team at our Dawson Co-op Mall located in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the repair, maintenance, improvement, and upkeep of Dawson Co-op lands, facilities, equipment, and vehicles.
Reporting to the Asset Protection Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to facilities best practices, procedures and service systems across all Dawson Co-op locations
- Analyze equipment issues, identify solutions and ensure repairs to the equipment are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Carry-out maintenance projects from start to finish, including obtaining quotes, making recommendations, purchasing materials, equipment, and supplies, monitoring budgets and expenditures, and ensuring project completion
- Manage contracts for recurring activities such as snow removal, gardening, garbage removal and one-off activities as-required
- Oversee and direct the day-to-day activities of maintenance department team members, providing as-needed support for in-house maintenance projects as required
- Maintain a solid understanding of maintenance and repair principles
- Ensure adherence to standards for maintenance and property management to minimize liability to the Dawson Co-op
- In collaboration with the Marketing Manager, ensure adherence to Dawson Co-op brand standards in all facilities, equipment, signage, and vehicles
- Advise the leadership team on strategies to improve cost-reduction, reduce downtime, risk mitigation, or other maintenance related outcomes
- In collaboration with the Safety Manager, ensure compliance with building safety code, fire plans, and fire extinguishers as per the inspection plan
- Ensure the safe and responsible management of assets and the adherence to a maintenance schedule
- Actively participate in developing and maintaining emergency plans, protocols, and procedures
- Adhere to all Dawson Co-operative Union policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Certification or designation in relevant skilled trades such as construction, electrical, refrigeration, plumbing or other relevant field.
· Minimum 3 years of experience working in maintenance, property management, or other related field;
· Experience with risk management and asset protection strongly preferred
· Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
· Demonstrated experience in a leadership role with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to direct, lead, develop, and motivate team members.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds
· Ability to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check
· Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a satisfactory driver’s abstract
· Practical experience and knowledge in the safe use of power tools and other equipment
Compensation & Benefits:
- Between $65,120 and $97,680 commensurate on qualifications and experience
