Description
Reporting to the Executive Director, Accounting, this position is responsible for performing and managing the budgeting, forecasting and accounting functions for the administration funds of the Corporation.
Provides consultative role to all management to ensure staffing is allocated appropriately to ensure budget and forecast targets are met.
Analyzes current and historical administration financial data to develop budgets, forecasts, cash flows and other financial reports for the Crop Insurance, AgriStability, Wildlife, and Livestock Price Insurance programs that provide information for both internal and external stakeholders.
Co-ordinate and prepare federal and provincial claims in accordance with Federal and Provincial statutes, regulations and agreements to ensure funding of administrative activities.
Co-ordinates the annual year-end financial audit for the Crop insurance, AgriStability, Wildlife and Livestock Price Insurance Administrations funds in liaison with the Controller and the Corporation's external auditors to ensure accurate and fair presentation of the Corporation's financial activities.
Performs ongoing analysis of financial systems output and initiates changes/improvements to processes and systems to ensure accuracy and completeness of the data and information is reported in a usable format.
Monitors the Corporation's administration fund cash flow to ensure adequate financing of expenditures and responsible for the purchasing of investments to maximize return on surplus funds.
Calculates the cost of payroll proposals to assist the management team in making decisions during the collective bargaining process.
Provide direction and day-to-day leadership and management to accounting team.
As a member of the Finance management team, assist with the development and implementation of strategic initiatives defined in the corporate plan.
