What your role will be…

The Manager Business AnalystContributes to the overall success of the Automotive Finance business-line in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures for both prime (Dealer Finance Centre) and near prime (Scotia Dealer Advantage).

In this role,the successful applicant will work with autonomy and minimal guidance, utilizing the Agile methodologies to ensure solution evolve through collaboration between self-organizing cross functional teams, confirming that capabilities are in-scope, on-time and of high quality. You will translate business line directives and customer needs into backlog items and serve as the primary source of external information for the Scrum teams, offering clear definitions of the targeted capability, the intended value to the customer, and functional/non-functional requirements. The Manager Business Analyst assists in the development of product roadmaps and author, refine, and approve backlog items, with clearly articulated acceptance criteria.

What you will be doing…

• Prioritize backlog contents, ensuring sufficient depth of groomed items for development consumption and commitment

• Apply incremental delivery principles, drive the delivery of business value, communicate progress, elicit feedback and enable stakeholder reviews for validation in the process

• Review QA test plans to align with acceptance criteria, facilitate testing and review of early builds for adherence to functional requirements.

• Lead and manage engagement with all stakeholders by: effectively communicating product release contents and expected product capabilities/customer journey; identify and manage business activities (operating model, training, communications and leading / supporting successful implementation, etc.) required to support agile initiatives; facilitate problem solving on a day-today basis as required, working closely with development and Business Lines on implementation challenges

• Responsible for managing and providing support to all Automotive Finance teams with respect to system enhancements/special projects and assignments including the development and implementation of proposed initiatives.

• Coordinate the delivery of multiple, simultaneous project schedules, working with cross-functional teams that include both internal and external subject matter experts. Apply project management and agile methodologies to assist the Operations and Manufacturer Partnerships teams in successfully deploying system projects and initiatives.

• Liaise with the Automotive Finance team, Scotia Dealer Advantage team, IT&S and other internal business units to both develop and manage the required changes and requests associated with system maintenance and enhancements.

• Perform project coordination activities like taking meetings minutes, organizing meetings with different stakeholders, managing project documentation and presenting project updates. Preparation of the project initiation documentation and change requests, development of customers' and internal partners' communication strategies.

• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

What you need to succeed…

• University degree in computer science, engineering, business, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in web-based portals or technology-related roles
• Previous experience in managing cross functional project teams
• Demonstrated success in project management and exposure to Agile methodologies
• Previous channel or business line experience an asset
• Motivated, self-starter with exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for details

• Excellent communication/interpersonal/negotiating skills
• Strong customer focus
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
