Job Description: The Manager of EMS Operations directly oversees all aspects of the operations in their assigned geographical area of responsibility, which is fluid and will be adjusted as needed to maximize the effectiveness of provincial EMS program delivery. The Manager will also be responsible to contribute to and lead provincial program development and strategic direction. The Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders such as Community Leaders, Public Safety Agencies, Municipal Leaders, Indigenous Services, Medical Oversight Team, Contracted and SHA EMS services, Medical Communications and Coordination Centers, Saskatchewan College of Paramedics, Ministry of Health and Educational Institutions to ensure a comprehensive provincial ground ambulance response system. The Manager is a critical component of the Provincial EMS Management team with direct accountability to ensure all staff have the appropriate resources to perform their job safely, effectively and efficiently; that there exists policies, procedures, work standards and treatment protocols that are safe, effective and appropriate; that staffing levels are appropriate and the shift schedules are maintained as per the collective bargaining agreements. The accountabilities of the incumbent includes overseeing the operations of the SHA and contracted Ground EMS Services, Community Paramedicine, Medical First Responders and EMS support programs. The position entails implementing quality assurance/improvement, operational planning and compliance with provincial emergency treatment protocols as well as provincial program policy and procedure, and standard work development.
