Manager of Community Support Services
Summary
In support of the mission and vision of Lambton Elderly Outreach, the incumbent will be responsible for the supervision of both Administrative and Field Employees across several Community Support Services programs. The Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, supervising employees and ensuring that all work is completed following safe work practices and LEO procedures. Monitoring vehicle maintenance will also comprise a major part of the role. Other duties include, tracking and reporting quality improvement initiatives, following up on client feedback, along with assisting with program coverage. It is expected that the incumbent will work alongside the Program Coordinators to ensure that the needs of the clients and/or their caregivers are satisfied.
Core Competencies
- Computer skills in programs such as Microsoft word, Excel, and Databases
- Working knowledge of interRAI assessment tools, AlayaCare, and NOVUS databases is an asset
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal)
- Ability and flexibility to work independently on a range of tasks
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Job Duties
- Recruiting, Hiring, Training and Supervising employees, providing direction and support as required
- Conduct job specific orientation and training for CSS employees
- Conduct performance reviews and work with CSS employees towards setting future goals
- Hold monthly department meetings and keep employees informed of policy/procedure changes
- Document and follow up with all performance issues and follow disciplinary process as necessary
- Enter and track statistical information for related programs
- Monthly billing reconciliation, approve billing adjustments and investigate discrepancies
- Timesheet reconciliation
- Incident investigation, client feedback follow-up
- Tracking of quality assurance measures
- Overseeing the daily maintenance of fleet vehicles, assigning vehicle repair and maintenance duties
- Promoting safe work activities by conducting safety audits and attending company safety meetings
- Reviewing intake assessment to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Program coverage across departments, as needed
- Participation in on-call rotation
Requirements
- Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience. Preference will be given to those with experience in the health care field
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Ability to quickly assess and respond appropriately to situations
- Ability to effectively supervise employees
- Tact, discretion, honesty, and rapport with seniors and people with disabilities
- Ability to safeguard and maintain a high level of confidentiality of client information
- Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and access to a vehicle
