Part of that process includes working with Municipalities to be “development ready.” Our planning division manages hundreds of applications for development improvements, variances, and other planning issues annually, helping guide to the best place for development and through the planning approval process.
About the Job
This role also includes supporting the marketing and communications of the two core departmental divisions: Land Use Planning and Economic Development. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Planning divisions communication and engagement strategy related to increasing engagement in the land use planning process and special projects (i.e. County Official Plan). It is also responsible for the effective roll out of the economic development marketing and communications strategy promoting Bruce County as a place to visit, live, start and grow a business. This position supports the marketing of the County’s three sub-brands of: Explore the Bruce, Spruce the Bruce and Business to Bruce. The coordinator works as part of the corporate Communications Cross Functional Team with internal staff and external stakeholders to develop and implement protocols that uphold the Be an Explorer brand vision and the implementation of marketing strategies in line with the overall brand message.

Requirements
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working directly in a communications, public relations and/or marketing role
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Skill and prior experience in writing content, media releases and messaging for specific audiences
Demonstrated ability in public speaking with little or no preparation
Proven understanding of digital marketing concepts and best practices
Ability to organize and manage changing priorities
Ability to juggle multiple projects with changing priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment
Strategic thinker and problem-solver who is self-motivated
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products
Solid experience with web templates, new media technologies, CMS, WordPress, Modx, etc
Willingness and ability to travel when required
Assets
Experience in web design and content production.
