Ja-Co is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer working towards their P.Eng designation with APEGA. This position reports to the management group, and is responsible for the code compliance/design and engineering of currently licenced products. Engineering at Ja-Co works closely with the QMS maintaining a quality product / work flow. As well as with the design team designing, engineering, and certifying machined and welded assemblies for various industries.
Responsibilities
- Design/Engineer and development of special projects, licensed products, utilizing Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Inventor, Nastran etc.)
- Maintain current standards for licensed products, and update quality processes for updated licensed standards
- Conduct site visits for new projects
- Collaborate with shop for job efficiencies, and updating manufacturing processes
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of the oilfield drilling industry and relevant manufacturing codes (API, B31.3, CWB, TC-44 etc.)
- Engineering experience within the manufacturing industry, with welding and/or machining experience being an asset
Required Experience:
- An engineering degree, with current P.Eng designation with APEGA
- Modelling design and drafting experience, complete with use of FEA (preferably Autodesk products)
- The ability to work within a dynamic team environment
- Highly motivated and self-directed, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision.
