MEDICAL SECRETARY (Part-time ]

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Medical Receptionist to join our busy surgical office. The successful candidate will be available on a part time basis for 2-3 days per week with flexibility to rotate days, when necessary.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Greet and register patients in a courteous and efficient manner to facilitate optimal patient flow and the desire to help patients receive the attention they need.
• Arrange diagnostic tests and treatments or other necessary care with appropriate facilities and professionals
• Schedule patient appointments, follow ups and changes
• Prepare EMR charts (Accuro)for clinic day in office and hospital
• Review and address incoming faxes through the EMR system
• Maintain all hard copies/digital copy paperwork
• Scan and file documents
• General office organization and administrative tasks
• Other related cross-functional duties as required with the ability to be flexible as the need arises
• Provide consultation and education to patients on medical devices that pertain to this office

Qualifications:

• Medical Office Assistant certificate or diploma with a minimum of 1-2 years of experience
• Ability to interact professionally with patients and other medical professionals
• Exceptional phone manners
• Effective communication (verbal and written) and critical thinking capabilities
• Proficient in Word processing and EMR software (Accuro preferred)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-past environment with interruptions and multiple priorities
• Demonstrated ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position
