Municipal By-Law Enforcement Officer (Seasonal)

The Municipality of Central Elgin is a progressive, growing, urban and rural municipality located on the north shore of Lake Erie in the heart of southwestern Ontario adjacent to London and St. Thomas. The Municipality is a major tourist destination in Southwestern Ontario given its multitude of public beaches, sports fields, community, and area parks.
The Municipality is currently seeking Full time Seasonal By-Law Enforcement Officers (40 hours a week) to assist staff in the enforcement of parking, nuisances, and other municipal by-laws.
Schedules will include most weekends and holidays, from May 1 to Labour Day 2024.
Reporting directly to the Manager of By-Law Enforcement, the By-Law Enforcement Officers will be responsible for the enforcement of municipal by-laws mainly in Port Stanley but may be assigned to other areas within the Municipality.
Desired qualifications:

• Post Secondary Law Enforcement and/or Security Training
• Record keeping
• G2 drivers license
• Physically fit
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently

Position Description:

• Conduct daily patrols of assigned areas by vehicle and on foot
• Maintain a daily journal (notebook) of daily activities
• Assist the Manager of By-Law Enforcement with other By-law duties as required
• Investigate, enforce and process parking by-law infractions

The 2024 Rate of Pay is $20.62-$24.55.
