Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oil and Gas Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in international projects, particularly in Africa. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing our engineering projects, ensuring they meet industry standards, environmental regulations, and company objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of Mechanical Engineering principles, excellent project management skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse cultural and operational environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and oversee the installation of mechanical systems and equipment for Oil and Gas extraction, processing, and transportation.
- Ensure all projects comply with international, national, and local regulations, with a keen focus on environmental protection and sustainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, environmental scientists, and local stakeholders, to ensure project success and community engagement.
- Conduct risk assessments, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses for projects in diverse environments.
- Provide expert advice on Mechanical Engineering issues, offering innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Travel to project sites, particularly in Africa, to oversee operations, ensure compliance with standards, and liaise with local partners and contractors.
- Stay updated with technological advancements and regulatory changes in the Oil and Gas industry, with a focus on African markets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation in Canada or equivalent international qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with at least 2 years of direct involvement in African projects.
- Proven track record of successful project management and engineering design in international settings.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in the Oil and Gas sector.
- Willingness to travel internationally, especially to African countries, as required by project needs.
