Ottawa Valley Vision is a growing Optometry clinic looking for a compassionate, friendly, organized, and self-motivated individual to join our team.
We are seeking an individual to assist with administrative tasks within our office as well as assist in preliminary optometric testing for our patients. More details regarding the specific job duties are provided below.
Bilingualism is an asset but not required. Prior experience in a medical or administrative setting is also an asset. Applicant MUST BE organized, independent, hard-working, self-motivated, and personable.
DUTIES:
- Assist in patient care, including taking medical history and performing preliminary tests
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment for patient visits
- Perform visual field testing, auto-refraction, retinal photography, automated lensometry, tonometry, optical coherence tomography and other diagnostic tests as directed by the optometrist
- Schedule appointments and maintain patient records in electronic medical records system including assisting with accounts receivables collection, OHIP billings, filing and scanning
- Handle front desk duties such as answering phone calls, checking patients in/out, and verifying insurance information
SKILLS:
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred but not required
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient care
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using electronic medical records systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
