Optometric Assistant/Receptionist

OPTOMETRIC ASSISTANT JOB POSTING:

The role of an Optometric Assistant/Receptionist is an essential part of our business and we’re looking for the right, motivated person to join our team for the long-term. Responsibilities In This Role:

• Work with teammates to deliver the highest level of customer service
• Provide feedback and ideas on ways we can improve: we love to learn from our employees
• Greet and welcome patients and manage patient check in
• Answer phone calls and book appointments
• Conduct pretesting for eye exams, comfortably explaining the process to keep patients at ease
• Take payment for services and process transactions in a timely manner

Candidate Requirements:

• Prior experience in an optometric practice or other healthcare setting is an asset, though a strong customer service background will also be considered
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively, in both written and verbal communications
• Detail oriented and effective at time management with a strong ability to multi-task
• Excited by a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
• Adept with computers and willing to embrace new technology with knowledge of Microsoft Office an asset
• Able to type 40 WPM

This is a full-time position: 4 days per week (with the option of increasing to 5 days per week after training is completed), including one evening shift and Saturdays. Salary: $17.00-$21.00 per hour
