Pharmacy Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Take in and handle out prescriptions;
• Respond to face to face and telephone enquiries of a routine nature from members of the public patients;
• Create and maintain patient profiles;
• Check for expired medications;
• Manage the cash register;
• Sell over the counter medicines;
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and dispensary;
• Filling of Blister Pack medications as per legal requirements.

Knowledge, skills and experience:

• Advance computer knowledge and skills; Windows proficiency required;
• Demonstrated customer service skills;
• Ability to prioritize;
• Understanding and experience with compliance packaging;
• Excellent knowledge of drug names;
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills;
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment;
• Discretion in handling confidential matters;
• Demonstrated reliability in previous work experience;
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Experience is required.
