We are looking for a Process Engineer to join us in the exciting work we do in Energy Infrastructure. You will work with internal and external parties at all level and the Business Development team partners. It'll be your responsibility to support the advancement of project opportunities in collaboration with the Clean Fuels Hydrogen Commercial team. In this position, you also get to Work with process team to identify, evaluate, and select Innovative the Business Development team partners and optimal technologies and solutions to meet customer/partner needs What Else You Get To Do:
Business Development Support:
- Work with the Clean Fuels Hydrogen Commercial team to understand and define customer/partner requirements
- Independently lead internal and external resources to develop appropriate-level capital cost estimates and schedules to support commercial proposal and contract development
- Work with a diverse group of support resources involving internal groups (engineering, regulatory, contracts, land, etc.), affiliate companies, and external partners (consultants, engineering firms, and construction groups) in order to assist the growth of new projects
- Contribute to the progress of business cases, authorizations for expenditure, and business plans
- Act as project engineer as required, to aid in the progress of all assigned projects, including supporting planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, cost tracking, forecasting and some project control activities
- Ensure projects are developed promoting a safe work culture and environmental standard processes
- Align with, and champion, Company business unit Project Management policies and procedures
- Involve key collaborators, including Operations, Engineering, Regulatory, and HSSE during project development
- Lead transition of projects from the Business Development group to the Major Projects group for projects that achieve sanction and proceed to Execution
- Develop a working level understanding of technology and innovation trends in the Company's areas of base business and future growth with a specific focus on the hydrogen sector
- Communicate trends and new technologies to internal partners
- Develop and maintain long term infrastructure plans
- Review existing customer contracts to understand how they may affect the delivery of services to potential future customers
- Develop high level strategies to consider likely “what if” scenarios
- Communicate future potential facility needs to internal collaborators
- Minimum Undergraduate degree in engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of energy proven experience
- Required - Professional Engineer designation with APEGA
- Preferred - PMP or CAPM or equivalent
- Intimate knowledge of operations in a syngas related application such as hydrogen, methanol or ammonia production is strongly desired
- Consideration will be given to engineers with strong backgrounds in the operation of other industries such as refineries, chemical production or upgraders
- Project Management knowledge and skills as well as organizational skills
- Strong computer, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of MS Project, Unifier and Primavera P6 would be an asset
- Familiarity with techniques in economic evaluation and risk assessment is an asset
- Comprehensive understanding of how safety and regulatory requirements influence facility development
- Experience with other hydrogen applications such as electrolysis, fuel cells, refueling stations and liquefaction is considered an asset
- Ability to perform duties & responsibilities independently, with engagement, and initiative
- Experience with the advancement of projects, large and small, from concept on is desired
