Production Technician

The Production Technician is an “all-round” operator role, capable of performing processes in production. They are able to operate all types of equipment and machinery.

Main Responsibilities

Operational tasks:

Broad range of operational activities such as discharge, load, transport, clean, label, operate equipment in production. Contributing to a safe, effective and efficient production processes. Forklift operation when required.

Maintenance & repair tasks:

Periodically inspects and completes maintenance tasks on the production equipment, signaling defects and deficiencies. Conducts minor repair work and/or assists Maintenance staff with larger maintenance and repair tasks as needed.

Reporting:

Logs data and information on production orders and activities in the logbooks / systems.

Continuous improvement:

Signals deviations in current processes, techniques or systems and flags opportunities for improvement with supervisor.

May participate in improvement projects.

Safety & Compliance:

Works in compliance with all relevant (personal as well as food) safety, environmental and quality regulations and procedures, as well as operational standards.

Promotes awareness on SHEQ, signals potential hazardous and / or unsafe situations, takes appropriate action is case of imminent unsafe situations.

Must be able to comfortably lift/carry 50lbs frequently throughout the shift

Good housekeeping:

Ensures the work area is left clean and in a safe working condition and that there are no hazardous situations. Maintains the appearance of the production line(s), working area(s) and production site.
