The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly-organized individual to join our VegPro team in Coldstream as a Purchaser/Storekeeper. The role is mainly responsible for the procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, and services to be used by the company, coordinating the efforts with all the departments to maintain the appropriate flow of material at the right time; processing and maintaining inventory records and modifying and implementing inventory control procedure.

Main Responsibilities:

- Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Organize and maintain the storeroom and ensure cleanliness and orderliness
- Prepare and package materials for shipment or delivery
- Coordinate with other departments to fulfill material requests in a timely manner
- Monitor stock levels and initiate procurement of materials as needed using Microsoft Dynamics
- Source and negotiate with vendors to obtain competitive prices and favorable terms
- Fabricate or assemble materials as required
- Conduct regular stock audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Implement and maintain effective vendor management practices

Skills and Requirements

- Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or other relevant field is an asset

- Proven experience as a Purchaser or similar role in a supply chain environment
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and procedures
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
- Ability to procure materials at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors
- Basic knowledge of fabrication techniques is preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
