Overview: As a Quality Manager at our heavy equipment manufacturing facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality, adherence to regulations, and continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing quality control systems to meet customer expectations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Assurance Systems:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control systems and procedures throughout the manufacturing process.
- Establish and enforce quality standards, specifications, and inspection criteria for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the manufacturing operations.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address quality issues and non-conformances.
- Supplier Quality Management:
- Collaborate with the procurement team to establish and maintain supplier quality requirements, evaluations, and audits to ensure consistency and reliability of supplied components and materials.
- Training and Development:
- Develop training programs and initiatives to educate employees on quality control measures, standards, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement among the workforce.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular reports, presentations, and recommendations for management review.
- Customer Focus:
- Act as a point of contact for quality-related inquiries and issues from customers, ensuring prompt resolution and effective communication to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated with industry regulations, standards, and best practices, and ensure the company's adherence to relevant quality and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in a quality management role within heavy equipment manufacturing or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of quality control methodologies, standards, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ISO standards).
- Knowledge of welding as it pertains to Quality
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective leadership and communication abilities to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using quality management software and MS Office applications.
