Position Summary:
The Quality Assurance Manager has authority over and responsibility for all personnel in the Quality Assurance Department in keeping with all Company policy and procedure, and to ensure the appropriate and adequate administration of the Collective Agreement, all personnel policy and procedure, and all applicable legislative authority.
Further, the Quality Assurance Manager is authorized to stop any process where the output of that process does not meet all customer specifications, provided the Quality Assurance Manager notifies the Operations Manager of the shutdown and proactively participates in solving the problem(s) that resulted in such shutdown, and carries that solution as preventive action through surrogate processes within the organization.
Essential Duties:
In keeping with the organization’s policies and procedures, along with all necessary legislative authority, the Quality Assurance Manager will:
· Be responsible and accountable for assuring the integrity of outputs in accordance with all Quality Assurance measures in keeping with the Quality System policies and procedures or the organization.
· Coordinate, delegate and ensure timely and cost-effective completion of all activities in Quality Assurance Department through the organization in keeping with the Titan Tool & Die Limited Quality System policies and procedures.
· Investigate all instances of non-conformance using the Material Discrepancy Report guided under the auspices of the Titan Tool & Die Limited policy and procedure for Control of Nonconforming Material.
· Develop a prioritized reduction plan with an objective toward eliminating any recurrence of non-conformance and reducing the overall cost of quality.
· Develop, monitor, implement and provide timely closure Action Plans developed in response to the appropriate QOS Measurable to provide for progress toward the achievement of operational and productivity objectives.
· Develop, monitor, and provide timely closure to Action Plans to ensure projects and assignments are planned and completed in a timely and fiscally responsible manner.
· Take corrective actions regarding personnel issues where required through the Titan Tool & Die Limited policy and procedure for progressive discipline.
· From time-to-time, evaluate the performance of personnel within the Quality Assurance Department and make timely recommendation to the Engineering Manager regarding proactive or remedial training of members of the Quality Assurance Department to empower those personnel to meet the objectives of the organization in a fiscally responsible manner.
· Receive and forward to the leader of the necessary cross-functional team, all customer concerns and complaints in keeping with the Titan Tool & Die Limited policy and procedure for Corrective and Preventive Action.
· React and respond to all customer concerns and complaints in the appropriate format in keeping with the Titan Tool & Die Limited policy and procedure for Corrective and Preventive Action.
· Maintain the Concern Analysis Report Log and monitor all Concern Analysis Reports for timely completion.
· Gather and compile data, submit weekly reports and complete any corrective action required for the applicable QOS Measurable.
· Participate as a team member in any required Process Improvement initiatives.
· Participate as a team member in the Advanced Product Quality Planning and continual improvement processes.
· Attend weekly meetings under the chair of the Engineering Manager and provide proactive input toward the resolution of open issues and the continual improvement of the Quality Assurance Department.
· Attend any other meetings as necessary as called by a member of the Senior Management Team to provide proactive input toward the resolution of open issues and the continual improvement of the organization.
Education and/or Experience:
· The Quality Assurance Manager must have at least three (3) years of management or supervisory experience in a Unionized setting, combined with a minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance both in an automotive component manufacturing environment, preferably in a multi-facility operation, along with proven experience in a wide range of computerized Quality Assurance monitoring software applications, and be well versed in the use of Microsoft Office.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Attention to detail and good judgement / analytical skills, combined with strong leadership skills.
· Able communicate professionally, verbally and in writing with team members and customers.
· The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
