RECREATION ASSISTANT

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Recreation Assistant is a Full-time position and will develop and implement programs that are culturally relevant and which promote the holistic development of children and their parents. They will encourage parental participation to increase parenting skills though supervised programmed activities and training and provide after school programing for the children of working parents.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. The Recreation Assistant should have knowledge of Couchiching First Nation, its programs and local resources

2. Knowledge and experience developing and coordinating recreational activities for children and parents

3. The ability to identify inappropriate behaviours and react properly, immediately and consistently

4. Demonstrate good leadership skills; be a positive role model, motivational presence and have excellent public relation skills

5. Possess good written and verbal communication skills

6. Familiarized in the usage of computers of Microsoft Office Software

7. Must be able to work as a team member

8. Possess or willingness to obtain an Adult/Child/Infant/ CPR certificate

9. Valid driver’s license is an asset
