The Township of Tiny is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Recreation Services Coordinator.
Reporting to the Director of Recreation, the Recreation Services Coordinator is responsible for the management of recreational sports activities for all age groups, in addition to youth and senior services, driving the development of opportunities, recreational programs, and community services. This position involves program planning, budgeting, and collaboration with local organizations to create engaging and inclusive initiatives that service the diverse needs and enhance the life, health, and well-being of the community.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate possesses the following:
General Experience
· Post-secondary education in a relevant area of study, such as physical health, recreation and leisure studies, event management planning, and/or volunteer management.
· Minimum of three years’ experience in a supervisory or lead responsibility position in community recreation, program development, event planning, or volunteer management.
· Sound understanding of recreational programming, community development, and public service in a municipal government environment.
· Ability to prioritize workload and identify issues and opportunities to determine which actions are needed in a timely manner.
· Political acuity and ability to deal with confidential and political issues with discretion.
· Commitment to a high standard of customer service both internally and externally.
· Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety practices.
· Bilingualism in English and French considered an asset.
Licences and Certifications
· Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C
· Ontario Class G driver’s licence and satisfactory Ontario driving abstract
· Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
· HIGH FIVE: PHCD, PHA, QUEST 2 and/or Trainer considered an asset
· NCCP Fundamental Movements Coach considered an asset
· Behaviour Management or Inclusion Training considered an asset
Technical Experience
· Microsoft Office Suite
· Xplor Recreation (recreation and facility management software) or equivalent
· Canva or equivalent considered an asset
· Better Impact (volunteer management software) or equivalent considered an asset

Rate of Pay
The Township of Tiny offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Pay Rate - $34.87 per hour to $43.59 per hour.
