Job description

As a Relationship Manager, Financial Institutions Group (FIG) at National Bank of Canada, you will facilitate relations with global correspondent banks to cultivate and sustain business relationships aimed at facilitating payment streams and bolstering bank revenues. This position allows you to have a positive impact on the organization through your ability to built strong business relationships with banks as well as with several internal sectors.  

Your job:

  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance existing relationships and acquire new clients.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, including (but not limited to) the Trade Finance, Treasury, Products, Operations, FX & Compliance teams to deliver comprehensive solutions and address client needs effectively.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to understand their goals, provide insights on industry trends, and offer strategic advice to help them achieve success.
  • Monitor market developments and regulatory changes impacting Financial Institutions.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying cross-selling opportunities and promoting our suite of products and services.
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, transactions, and business opportunities.

Your team

Within the Financial Institutions Group, you are part of a team of 6 colleagues, and you report to the Senior Manager. Our team stands out for its versatility and proactiveness. Basic requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and seven years' experience or Master's degree and five years of experience 
  • Proven experience (5 years) in relationship management, business development within the financial services industry, with a focus on serving Financial Institutions.
  • Strong understanding of financial products and services, including international trade, treasury management, capital markets, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with senior-level executives.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding targets and driving revenue growth.
