Baxter’s Bakery is a fast-growing family owned and operated bakery located in Cobourg, Ontario. Our success is fueled by products being hand baked and crafted with care from scratch, using the finest ingredients, giving our products their delicious homemade flavour. Supplying leading cafés and grocery stores across North America we are looking for a research and Development Pastry Chef to join our team.

Reporting to the Executive Pastry Chef, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing as well as improving products across our brands: Baxter’s Bakery & Quinn’s Baking Co. To be successful the candidate will bring a passion for baking, ability to work as a collaborative team member, and development of recipes to support a fast-growing business.

What you will bring

- A passion for product quality and excellence

- A positive attitude with a solution focused mentality

- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Pastry Chef

- Production baking experience an asset

- Ability to skillfully prepare cakes, squares, cookies, muffins, tarts & viennoiserie

- Attention to detail, quality and cleanliness

- Strong organization skills

- Ability to delegate, multi-task and meet challenging details

- Capacity to work in a face paced environment

What you will do

- Research and develop for seasonal items, new products and improvement to existing products

- Execute recipes from inception to commercialization

- Coordinate with the Project Manager, QA Team and Production Managers on recipe rollout and staff training

- Ensures all relevant reporting and recipe menu development responsibilities are met

- Maintains a clean and organized work area

- Other tasks as assigned

Located

Cobourg. Monday to Friday.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $70,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Professional Baking: 5 years (required)
