The opportunity:
The Research Coordinator will be primarily responsible for undertaking research, policy analysis, data analysis, integrated knowledge translation, writing, and research coordination Dr. Roberta Woodgate's INºGAUGE, a child and youth research program.
In addition, they will assist in research on issues of child and youth health relating to Dr. Roberta Woodgate's INºGAUGE research program. The incumbent will take a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to issues of healthcare and access to healthcare, understanding and articulating how they are connected in today's complex world.
The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:
· Completion of a degree in a social sciences or health-related field is required.
· Completion of a graduate degree in a social sciences or health-related field is preferred.
· Experience with all phases of carrying out a research project; both qualitative and quantitative social science or health research (including research directed at young people experiencing mental health challenges).
· Experience with survey data collection, individual open-ended interviews, writing field notes, participant observation, focus group interviews, and arts-based research methods.
· Must have experience with drafting technical reports, brief non-technical reports for communities, academic publications and presentations, and other written documents as requested.
· Experience using statistical and other computer software related to word processing for data collection or organization is required.
· Must be well-versed with ethical and security issues related to research.
· Must have experience using statistical and other computer software related to word processing and data management (e.g., Microsoft Office, SPSS, NVivo or other qualitative software programs, Reference Management System - Endnote).
· Must have experience with literature searches and retrieval, as well as grant writing.
· Experience with knowledge translation science is an asset.
· An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
· Excellent English oral and written communication skills are required.
· Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others is required.
· Good organizational skills are required.
· Must be able to work within time and budget constraints.
· Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently.
· Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team is essential with academic and non-academic individuals.
· Ability and willingness to learn new processes and techniques is required.
· Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
· Access to vehicle and willingness to travel, depending on public health guidelines is required.
