Job Summary:
The Logistics & Packaging Technician will be responsible for coordinating order/shipment requests for clinical trial materials to various domestic and international locations. They are responsible for performing clinical trial packaging procedures. The primary focus is meeting our customer needs while adhering to SOPs and regulatory guidelines within a GMP environment. This role regularly works with all departments in Bay Area Research Logistics and reports to the Logistics Lead and/or the Director of Operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Receives and coordinates Clinical Trial order/shipment requests for clinical trial sites
· Performs all documentation and freight carrier requirements accurately and on time
· Accurately completes all receiving records and documentation
· Performs tasks in accordance with all SOP’s, Shipping Instructions and GMP guidelines
· Oversees the logistics operations performed by additional personnel and ensures all activities are executed accurately and in accordance with all SOP’s, Shipping Instructions and GMP guidelines
· Accurately monitors and documents temperatures to ensure they are maintained within approved range at all times
· Accurately performs monthly inventory of all finished goods, in-process drug and quarterly inventory of supplies
· Assists in required Clinical Trial packaging: over-encapsulation, bottling, sealing, labeling, kitting and the accurate documentation for all operations, records in accordance with SOPs and guidelines
· Performs all tasks in accordance with SOP’s, packaging procedures, Batch Records and GMP guidelines
· Performs cleaning of Packaging Room, Clean Room and other equipment, as required
· Cleans and operates the packaging equipment and utensils
· Monitors and documents temperature and clean room gauges are maintained within approved range during packaging and labeling procedures
· Assists with receiving, destruction and other tasks as required
· Performs other duties as may be assigned within BARL.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Completion of high school diploma or equivalent
· Post-Secondary education in science, pharmacy, clinical research or equivalent considered an asset
· Experience working in a GMP environment considered an asset
ADDITIONAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND/OR ABILITIES:
· Ability to follow specific instructions with a high degree of accuracy
· Demonstrated effectiveness in verbal and written communications
· Demonstrates accuracy with the ability to use computers (including Microsoft Office)
· Good physical condition required as moderate lifting and cart pushing are involved
· Experience working in a laboratory, pharmacy or production environment considered an asset
· Strong problem-solving ability
· Excellent interpersonal and team building skills

Salary: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
