Packer and Packaging Technician

Department: Production

Reports to: Shift Manager, Production Supervisor, Lead Hand and QC

Summary Statement

As efficiently as possible, package Treasure Mills products in the accurate packaging while ensuring food quality and food safety is met.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assemble/disassemble machinery
• Check products and packaging for basic quality defects, report any quality variances
• Measure, weigh, and count products to be packed
• Load materials and products into package processing equipment
• Label product ensuring proper packaging material and lot code
• Palletizing cases of product onto skids
• Check boxes, cases, and trays and products to ensure that packing specifications are met
• Clean equipment and work area according to company's SSOP

HEALTH&SAFETY, SECURITY AND ENVIRONMENT

Comply with all company health and safety policies and practices including the wearing of PPE, Lockout procedures, and WHMIS. Report any Health & Safety, Security and Environment Issues to personnel with authority to initiate action

FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY

Execution of all job functions shall be done in accordance to all site Quality and Food Safety procedures. Report any food safety and quality problems to production supervisor and or QC to initiate action

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Organized
• Must be reliable – good work history and attendance record
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Be able to stand for lengthy periods
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic
• Ability to lift/push/pull 30 pounds
• Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment
