Senior IT Business Analyst
Location: Greater Edmonton, Alberta (hybrid)

Description:
Our public sector client is seeking an Senior IT Business Analyst for a 9-month contract term of employment to assist with a COTS software implementation project. The successful candidate will work with the Project Management and Delivery Office and will be required to be onsite 2 days a week. Senior IT Business Analyst candidates will have 10+ years’ experience with an emphasis cus on COTS software implementations and IT projects.
Responsibilities:
-Capture business requirements from design documents.
-Conduct design sessions with stakeholders.
-Develop current and future state process documentation.
-Conduct test case development.
-Provide support during go-live.
-Identify and document project risks.
-Assist with the onboarding of IT customer departments.
-Conduct and participate in customer sessions to gather and document customer requirements.
-Collect and document application inventories.
-Plan business capability changes for the purpose of building multi-year customer roadmaps outlining projects and initiatives to meet customer needs.
Requirements:
-Minimum of 10 years of experience acting in the role of a Business Analyst in an Information Technology environment.
-Good knowledge and understanding of ITIL, process diagramming, customer journey mapping, software development/configuration, Azure DevOps, SharePoint (Nice to Have), requirements stewardship and quality assurance management in the software development lifecycle.
-Organized and able to effectively manage time and multiple priorities.
-Effective planning skills.
-Proven interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
-Ability to maintain professional working relationships.
-Able to work and contribute as part of a successful team.
-Customer service skills including active listening, problem solving, and patience.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
-Understanding of the services that a municipality offers and how those service structures are organized.
Additional Requirements:
-Customer focused.
-Experienced with hybrid and remote work.
-Comfortable working independently as well as within a team structure.
-Comfortable and confident with coordinating and engaging stakeholders within aggressive timeframes.
-Experienced in working as a Business Analyst on software integration and implementation projects.
-Highly proficient in writing project related documentation ranging from business requirements and business capabilities to project roadmaps.
