Job Summary: Shop Service & Field Service Support
Based in Ontario, MG Power Service Associates Inc. is a service supplier to the high voltage sector performing installation, repairs and maintenance to clients across Canada. We service power utilities, power generation, and industrial sites who own or maintain high voltage equipment. Our company focuses on quality of Service and safety above all else.
This Shop Service & Field Support role will entail maintaining and servicing the shop and speciality equipment, preparing tools and equipment to mobilize for jobs and preparing and servicing upon return. In addition, traveling to jobsites and supporting the field technicians in performing repairs and maintenance of power transformers and other equipment.
Key Learning & Job Aspects:
- Maintain compliance and follow requirements of Electrical Safety Authority as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act along with specific company or client safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain, organize, and clean the service shop
- Organize, inventory, and prepare tools for each job.
- Organize and maintain vacuum oil processors and other specialty equipment
- Order and gather estimates for tools and equipment to support Field Service.
- Provide onsite support in the installation and maintenance of power transformer equipment
- Communicate with suppliers as required.
- Provide ongoing support to field technicians as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and adherence to safety procedures.
- Mechanical based knowledge as asset
- Operate various mechanical and power tools as required
- Able to carry out the physical requirements of walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, etc. to perform duties of the position.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills using English language.
- Strong time management and organization skills.
- Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office programs (such as MS Word and Excel)
- Professional and respectful demeanor. Work well with others in a team environment as well as independently.
- Willingness to follow direction and support all operations as needed.
- Pass routine drug screening.
Job Type: Full Time
Salary: $20-$25 hour
Additional opportunities may exist for individuals having advanced experience or technical training
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday - 8 hour shift
- Weekends occasionally if required
- Travel required to support onsite work
