Site Superintendent – Fort St John
WCPG Construction Ltd is currently looking for a Site Superintendent for a project located in Fort St John, BC starting in late March 2024. WCPG Construction Ltd is a rapidly expanding multi-family property development and construction company with projects throughout British Columbia. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience as a Site Superintendent on multifamily, wood frame developments ranging in size from 50-100 units with excellent communication skills and wood frame build outs. Key job responsibilities include: Creating a project schedule, working closely with the project manager, coordinating and scheduling sub- trades.
You will work and communicate directly with our subcontractors, suppliers and staff. You must have great communication skills, knowledge of the building process from start to finish, maintain the ability to prioritize/multi-task, and have strong problem solving skills.
Skills & Experiences:
- Working experience of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, underground parkade and general building system.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
- Experience in new condominium set-up an asset
Responsibilities
The Site Superintendent provides leadership and is responsible for, although not limited to:
- Maintaining Schedules and Budget
- Supervising & leadership
- Ensuring the safety of crew members
- Following site safety guidelines
- Productivity of crew members & quality control
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to identify and coordinate items with long lead times.
- Communicate any existing damage or deficiencies to the key players.
- Monitor and control project quality.
- Completely understand the scope of work, and notify the Project Manager and Vice President of any “Extras” or change orders.
- Coordinate and schedule sub-trades and subcontractors.
- Adhere to and accelerate project timelines and materials.
- Manage/set the pace of production to ensure timely execution
- Ensure completion of deficiency items and communicate with the Project Management team.
Safety
The Site Superintendent must provide leadership that results in a safe work culture, is responsible and accountable for the safety of the crew under his/her direction, and must understand and accept the importance and legal liability of the role.
This includes:
- Knowing, understanding, communicating and ensuring compliance, and company safety policies and procedures
Leadership and Supervision
The Site Superintendent coordinates the crew, and must understand and consistently apply the general foreman’s policies. The site foreman is required to be involved and supportive of any day to day
disciplinary decisions.
This includes:
- Communicating the job to and with the crew
- Assigning crew tasks
Recognizing, addressing and resolving issues/problems among/between crew members
- Maintaining work standards and outlining behavioral expectations to ensure crew morale and
productivity
- Applying the principles of workplace respect on site Knows and Understands:
- Company and project safety programs
- Occupational Health and Safety and environmental issues
- Employment standards and company policies
Has the ability to:
- Lead the crew
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing, with good comprehension
- Apply good problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Salary: $150,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
