The opportunity
This specialist role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the ongoing success of the Jump Rope for Heart program that Heart & Stroke has coordinated and executed with elementary schools across Canada for more than 30 years! Reporting to the Manager, Program Development JUMP, the specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering on Program Development, executional aspects and central operations, while driving innovation to ensure the JUMP program continues to succeed and achieve it's annual fundraising targets.
This unique role provides the opportunity to engage with and educate children on how to live a heart healthy lifestyle indirectly through teachers, parents, and guardians. The successful incumbent will require an in-depth understanding of program intricacies to lead the tactical execution of plans, communications, promotions, email campaigns, supply chain management and will develop great relationships with the Jump Relationship Specialist team who support the successful execution of the program. This role also executes website enhancements, including design elements, content development, and regular updates.

How you will make an impact every day
Program Development – Strategic Input
- Provide input into program plans including strategies, tactics, and executional considerations
- Develop contingency plans as necessary to address unforeseen challenges by region and nationally to achieve goals
- Develop innovative ideas for testing so as to reduce costs and drive revenue
- Identify industry best practices for potential integration to test and foster continuous improvement
- Develop comprehensive surveys, reports and conduct effective analyses to inform decision-making and business planning (and contingency implementation, if necessary)
- Partner with Marketing to develop communications and supports to engage diverse school boards, and communities
- Continuously solicit feedback from internal and external stakeholders to implement program optimizations to support evergreen nature of programing
Program Execution
- Contribute to the development of website vision and digital event experience, including learning and implementing SEO; and lead website executional requirements
- Lead development of bilingual resources, communications, and other tools
- Ensure high-quality, relevant and timely communications with various stakeholders and establish agreed-upon approval process and obtain sign off on plans and communications
- Develop and implement website testing protocols to test and monitor enhancements and improved user experience, collaborating with internal partners
- Assist in delivering and executing digital strategies including paid media and email and lead development and execution of organic social media strategies
Program Operations Support
- Lead the planning and tactical execution of the Jump annual program plans to support the successful delivery of all program targets
- Collaborate with vendors and internal partners to ensure that all project deliverables are met on time, on strategy, and on budget.
- Lead the fulfillment process with the Fundraising Operations team, forecasting, prototyping, write-offs, inventory replenishment, and Jump relationship specialist team communication.
- Provide input into relationship specialist team and volunteer training materials, assist in delivery of training as needed
- Develop and coordinate annual program promotions including promotion prizes, website assets, email communication, rules and regulations, and fulfillment
- Develop essential how-to guides, videos and support aids to enable scalability of program resources for successful execution and support the development of training materials for national webinars and regional training workshops
- Review processes related to execution of programs and identify opportunities to improve or increase efficiency
Administration
- Manage critical paths, including program master timeline, creative development, print and production
- Respond to requests from internal stakeholders, volunteers and donors
- Coordinate and execute weekly correspondence with the jump specialists team, and website partners
Who we need
Experience
- 3-4 years of previous work experience in marketing, communications or fundraising
- Project Management preferred – 1-2 years' experience
- Program Development and Fundraising experience preferred
- 1+ year of digital strategy and marketing experience would be an asset
- Working knowledge of website development, email, digital and social media
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
Education
Post-secondary degree or diploma or equivalent experience
