Job description

Maple Lodge Farms is Canada’s largest independently owned poultry processor. It engages in processing and supplying chicken products in Canada and internationally. It offers bacons, deli chicken meats, sliced packaged meats, fresh seasoned chicken, frozen boxed meats, and wieners. Maple Lodge Farms, Ltd. was founded in 1955 and is based in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:

  • Responsible for all recruitment activities (salaried and hourly roles), including posting jobs, applicant screening, scheduling and conducting interviews, and checking references.
  • Assists with overflow recruitment activities from other customer groups, when required.
  • Partners with hiring managers with respect maintaining current job descriptions and profile of ideal candidate.
  • Screens candidates for skill, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements.
  • Provides information on benefits and other programs as part of the Employee Value Proposition.
  • Maintains employee files in Avanti (HRIS), including entry of new hires, transfers, terminations, and employee information changes.
  • Identifies effective sourcing channels and segments to source best-in-class talent. Participates in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies: (a) Leverages a variety of sourcing tools and avenues to source active and passive candidates in a timely manner; (b) develops and maintains a network of contacts, including online recruiting resources, to help identify and source qualified candidates; and (c) provides assistance as needed to employees and managers in the areas of employee relations, performance management, compensation/benefits, and employment.
  • Policies, Processes & Procedures: follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in high volume full cycle recruitment
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and contentious issues;
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
  • General Computer Skills (MS Office / HRIS).


Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field;


Working Conditions:
Office based, with travel to the Mississauga facility (7120 Edwards Blvd. Mississauga, ON L5S 1Z1) once or twice a week.
