Reports to:

Director of Sales, Operations - Utility

Location: Anywhere Western Canada

Key Accountabilities

20% Sales Plan Execution

Develop, implement, and continuously monitor sales plan to ensure regional objectives are achieved or exceeded.

50% Sales Team Management & Development

Ensure the ongoing development of sales team through motivation, coaching, personal development, and performance management. Regularly review policies and actions to ensure service levels and values are being maintained.

20%Customer Relationship Development

Continuously improve relationships with decision makers at all key existing and targeted accounts.

10% Forecasting & Vendor Management

Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts to Director of Sales, Operations to ensure sales and margins are tracking to plan and empower purchasing agents to react where necessary. The person is required to actively communicate, plan, and strategize with regional vendor manager.

Duties

Sales Plan Execution

  • Establish and implement short-, mid- and long-term sales plans which will determine the opportunities, goals and objectives of the Western Region in terms of sales, customer service, and profitability.Ensure product category growth, market growth, and customer growth are focusses of each plan.

Ensure responsible margin management is reflected in each plan.Ensure strategic business objectives are factored into each plan.

  • Manage and maximize profitability through cultivation and development of the territory.Establish multi-layered pricing strategies exists for each business segment ensuring a healthy mix of business is maintained.
  • Identify and take advantage of unrealized opportunities for expansion in the region through existing and potential customers as well as products.
  • Regularly review the market and industry trends to identify pricing changes, new competitors and code changes which could affect our regional or company sales plans.
  • Increase the Business Centre’s profitability through systematic control of costs and expenses.

Customer Relationship Development

  • Develop strong long-term relationships with select key customers throughout the Western Region:Meet regularly with accounts to determine their specific needs and identify how Noramco can support their business growth.

Make concerted effort to build relationships outside of the work environment, build personal long-lasting relationships with key individuals.Introduce sales team to appropriate members of customers teams to ensure relationships can be built at all levels.
Sales Team Management & Development

  • Identify, attract, develop, motivate and retain outstanding employees.Specific performance metrices should be established for each, communicated regularly, and success acknowledged, or challenges addressed.

Prepare and follow through on Annual Business Plan as well as Goals and Objectives for each employee.

  • Regularly review, adjust and communicate changes to pricing strategies to maximize sales and margin growth.
  • Ensure quotations are being followed up and quotation log is current and accessible to sales team.
  • Ensure sales team consistently prospect and develop new business through a strategic process of warm and colds calls.
  • Work respectfully and diligently to grow existing business by promoting Noramco utility products and consistently offering our expertise and service.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of product to remain up to date with various product lines (including vendor training) and industry changes.
  • Create sales contest and promotions and present to Director Sales, Operations for approval.
  • Coordinate and assist, where necessary, the various functions in office sales and administration, including:Liaising with operations and purchasing personnel while entering orders.

Providing pricing quotations and following-up on every quote, when necessary.Administering the opening of new accounts and maintaining existing customer-account databases.

  • Ensure proper administration in the management of freight claims and reel returns

General

  • Ensure all job functions are performed in accordance with the organization's Standard Practice Instruction (SPI) ;
  • Behave in an ethical and professional manner reflecting the values of the Company.
  • Provide back-up support to the sales department when required.
  • Communicate timely with Senior Management on market and business-related issues and opportunities
  • Stay current in your profession and enroll in continuing education focused on sales strategies and account management principals.
  • Performs any other duties as required by management.
