What's the job?
The Treasury Analyst role involves working with data to create insightful reports and improve existing Treasury processes. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing data from various sources, including emails, phone calls, and reports, to make informed decisions on behalf of the Treasury team. They will also be the main point of contact for front line employees for special rate requests for members.
In addition, the Treasury Analyst will play a pivotal role in cash management and FX management. They will collaborate with Finance and Enterprise Analytics teams to identify areas for improvement and use advanced data analytics tools such as Tableau to create insightful reports.
What you'll get to do:
Review and respond to branch email and calls for interest rate discretion while reviewing data of transaction to make an informed, appropriate decisions within Coast Capital's risk tolerances. Review and respond to branch and customer email and calls for USD discretionary pricing and booking USD pricing. Collect and analyze daily Agent Channel interest rates and growth to create rate survey information and growth information that can be used to make recommendations for rate changes. Review and perform interest rate changes in the banking system based on analysis of market trend and macroeconomic factors. Perform other general duties required for cash management, foreign exchange management and reporting. Assist Securitization Senior Manager in data gathering, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting. Prepare Month End Agent/Dealer Top Relationships report for regulatory purpose. Review current processes and pro-actively propose changes or new initiatives to improve operational efficiency. Analyze various ad-hoc initiatives and provide commentary for the ALCO report.
Who are we looking for?
Bachelor's Degree or a diploma requiring 3 - 4 years of full-time study. Minimum 2-3 years of financial institution experience in accounting or treasury. Strong analytical, problem-solving, attention to details and excellent time management skills. Ability to work effectively within a team and assumes ownership and accountability. Working Knowledge of banking products such as loans and deposits and how they work. Working knowledge of branch banking and any treasury activities are considered an asset: Foreign exchange markets, Securitization, Liquidity Risk Management, Interest Rate Risk Management, and Funds Transfer Pricing.
