Whites Road Animal Hospital in Pickering currently has a full time flex position available. We’ve added another DVM and need another superstar to help our medical team continue to practice at the high standards our clients have come to expect.
This position works both Veterinary Assistant and Receptionist shifts depending on the day. We are focused on providing the highest quality medicine, outstanding client service and a positive and fun team environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced person to join our amazing team.
Duties include:
- Assist with nail trimming, ear cleaning, client education, fill prescriptions and computer transaction entry during office hours or treatment times.
- Ensure a comfortable and clean environment for all patients.
- Provide care to hospitalized patients including feeding and cleaning as needed.
- Prepare and sanitize surgery suites. Prep patients for surgery, assist when needed.
- Clean, prepare, and autoclave surgical packs and drapes. Thoroughly clean autoclave per hospital schedule.
- Assist in inventory procedures.
- Unpack and stock hospital, cleaning, office, and kennel supplies.
- Clean the hospital including public, employee, and patient areas to maintain clean, odor-free, and attractive environment.
- Perform housekeeping and laundry duties for all areas.
- Answer phones, emails and texts
- Welcome and support clients and patients, ensuring smooth communication throughout a client’s visit and acting as liaison between clients and the medical team
- Book, confirm, check in and change appointments in Cornerstone as necessary
- Provide an exceptional client experience
We’re looking for an enthusiastic team player who wants to learn and grow, takes initiative, is calm and compassionate, and of course has a passion for animals!
This is a permanent, full time position and requires a candidate that is available days, evenings and Saturdays. As such, it is not suitable for students.
Minimum one year professional experience (vet clinic, shelter, kennel, etc) and/or completion of an Animal Care certificate from a post secondary institution is preferred.
