Veterinary Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for position of a Veterinary Assistant in Collingwood. Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned and award winning hospital with recognition in community polls each year. We pride ourselves on providing excellent care of our clients and patients, as well as take very good care of our team. We are looking for a friendly, outgoing individual who wants to make a difference in pet's lives by assisting our team with a variety of tasks within our hospital. No previous experience is needed, but experience working in a veterinary hospital, animal shelter, or healthcare setting would be an asset. Seasoned Veterinary Assistants/VT's are encouraged and welcome to apply where salary is negotiable depending on your level of experience and skill set. Training will be provided to the right individual. Some of your duties include:

• assisting our veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care
• inventory management
• managing/cleaning surgical instruments
• reception duties and client communication in person, telephone and via e-mail
• lab specimen prep
• record keeping duties using a computer
• being a team player and contributing to our positive work culture within our hospital

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
