What is the opportunity?
RBC Corporate Client Group (CCG) offers credit solutions to companies with credit needs exceeding $25 million. We are hiring a Vice President to support the Managing Director/Director, CCG Finance and CCG relationship managers in the realization of CCG annually established objectives (loan book growth and revenues) through the structuring (pitch through close) delivery and management of the bank debt of our targeted customer base.
What will you do?
Support CCGF MD/Director and CCG relationship managers to structure, deliver, close, and monitor syndicated and bi-lateral loan transactions including credit submissions and transaction presentations
Support CCG relationship managers in the preparation and presentation of marketing pitches to existing and potential clients
Follow up and engage with RBC partners and functions including Group Risk Management, Private Banking, RBC Investments, Capital Markets, specialized teams in Commercial Financial Services (CFS) i.e. leasing, trade finance etc., Personal Banking, and others
Work with Group Risk Management to ensure proper alignment with credit processes and client expectations
Provide research, analysis, and data (market, industry, client, competitor) to support CCG advice on the optimal amount of bank debt required to meet strategic objectives with each client relationship
Commit to the delivery of quality credit products to RBC clients and targets
Provide analysis and support to Managing Director CCG Finance and CCG Finance colleagues for CCG advice on risk and return associated with loan transactions contemplated as part of client strategies
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Undergraduate degree with a focus in Business, Economics, Mathematics or other quantitative fields
Work experience in commercial and/or corporate lending / finance and / or risk management
Strong communication skills (oral and written)
Initiative and excellent collaboration (working in a team environment) and client relationship skills
Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities and drive to deliver under tight timelines
Strong attention to detail and ability to model and analyze/interpret financial data; strong computer literacy with emphasis on Excel
Nice-to-have
Graduate degree with a focus in Business, Economics, Mathematics or other quantitative fields
CFA or other relevant professional designation – ongoing or completed
